1 C shortening
1 1/2 C sugar
1 egg
1 can 8 3/4 z crushed pinapple w/ juice
3 1/2 C gold medal flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 C chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar and egg thoroughly. stir in pineapple. measure flour by dipping method or by sifting. Stir together flour, soda, salt, and nutmeg: blend in. Mix in nuts. chill at least 1 hr. Heat oven 400º. Drop rounded tsp of dough about 2" apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 mins. or until no imprint remains when touched lightly. Makes about 5 dozen. If you use gold medal self rising flour, omit soda and salt.
