1/4 cup margarine, shortening or cooking oil
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp almond extract
1/2 cup milk
2 cups ( 1 pound 5 ounce can) prepared pie filling

melt margarine in 8 inch square, 8 inch round or 9 inch pie pan. In mixing bowl combine remaining ingredients except pie filling. Mix until smooth. Pour over margarine, but do not mix. Spoon pie filling on top.

Bake 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

Other combinations.
Easy Peach Cobbler-Use peach pie filling or 1 pound can sliced peaches. Drain peaches, reserving syrup. Arrange peaches on top of batter and bake. thicken syrup with 1 Tbsp cornstarch; cook until mixture boils. Serve over cobbler.
