Buttermilk Bread Recipe

5 to 6 cups Bread Flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
2 packages yeast
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup margarine or butter
Melted margarine or butter

Grease two 8x4 loaf pans. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup. In large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt, soda, and yeast. Blend well.
Heat buttermilk, water and margarine until very warm. (120 to 130 degrees) Add to flour mixture. Blend until moistened then beat 3 minutes at medium speed. Add additional flour until pulls away from sides of bowl.
Knead in additional flour until smooth and elastic about 10 minutes. Let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Shape into loaf, let rise until up to pan edges. About 30 to 40 minutes.
Oven 375 degrees, Bake 30 to 40 minutes.
