1 3/4 C butter
1/2 C firmly packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1/2 C maple syrup
2 1/4 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 C walnut halves

Directions:
Directions:
Instructions: Preheat oven at 400 degrees. Cream butter thoroughly. Gradually add brown sugar and beat until fluffy. Add the egg, maple syrup, maple flavoring, all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and beat well. Drop by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with a walnut half. Bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
