2 sticks butter 4 extra large eggs @ room temperature
2 c sugar
3/4 c good cocoa powder
1/2 c flour
2 tsp vanilla

Vanilla Ice Cream for serving

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly butter a 2 quart oval baking dish.
2. Melt two sticks of butter and set aside to cool. Whisk cocoa and flour together and set aside.
3. In good sized bowl, beat eggs and sugar together on high speed until very thick and light yellow (5-10 minutes).
4.Lower speed and add vanilla, then flour and cocoa mixture (mix only until just combined). Slowly pour in cooled butter and mix again until just combined.
5.Pour brownie mixture into a prepared dish and then place the dish in a larger baking pan. Add enough of the hottest tap water to this pan until it is half way up the side of the dish and bake for exactly one hour.
6.A cake tester inserted 2 inches from the side will come out 3/4's clean. The center will appear under-baked.
7.Cool and serve with vanilla ice cream. Very rich, serves 6-8 people.
