No Beef Stew Recipe

8 c water
1 chopped onion
3 cloves minced garlic
2 bay leaves
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp paprika
6 cloves
1 T worchestershire sauce
2 tsp lemon juice

1 1/2 c lentils

3 diced potatoes
3 sliced carrots
3 stalks celery chopped
2 c frozen corn
1 c frozen peas

Put water and spices, (first 10 ingredients), in a stock pot and simmer for 30 - 60 minutes.
Add washed lentils and cook for 1/2 hour.
Add vegatables and cook for another 1/2 hour.
Thicken with flour and water if desired.

This tastes a lot like beef stew, just no beef. It's one of Alison's favorites.
