2 envelopes dry yeast
1/3 cup lukewarm water
1 cup boiling water
½ cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten lightly
1 cup cold water
6 – 8 cups sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup lukewarm water. Into 1 cup boiling water, stir shortening, sugar, and salt. Combine eggs and 1 cup cold water and add to shortening mixture. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Beat vigorously. Stir in dissolved yeast and blend. Allow dough to rise until doubled. Work down. Knead well. Roll to ½ inch thick and cut as biscuits. Allow rolls to rise at room temperature until double in bulk, about 2 hours. Brush pan and tops of rolls with melted butter. Bake at 400º until brown, about 10 – 12 minutes. Dough keeps well for several days when refrigerated.
