1/2 cup flour
1/8 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 325. Lightly grease 8x8x2 inch baking pan. In a bowl mix butter, sugar and eggs at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in melted chocolate and vanilla. At low speed blend in flour, baking powder and salt. Fold in walnuts.
Spread evenly in pan. Bake 30 minutes.

Yield: 16
