1 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven: 350
Cream shortening and butter well. Gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one a time. Beat well after each egg. Sift flour, baking powder, and cocoa together. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Start and end with dry ingredients. Add vanilla. Put into baking pan. Bake for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
