1 - 14 oz. pkg. caramels
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. sale
2 c. rolled oats (quick or old fashioned)
1 - 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Combine caramels and milk in small saucepan and melt caramel over low heat. Stir to a smooth consistency. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar; blend in egg. IN another bowl combine flour, soda salt and oatmeal. Combine dry ingredients with butter mixture. Take half of dough and spread into a greased 9 x 13" pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350º. Remove from oven and pour melted caramels evenly over slightly baked dough. Sprinkle chocolate chips over Caramel and spoon drops of remaining dough on top. Return to oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely on wire rack before cutting.
