2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. vanilla (yes tablespoons)

Icing
1 c. 10x sugar
2 tsp. milk
2 tsp. light corn syrup
coloring paste

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar in an electric mixer (or hand held mixer). Add egg, vanilla and beat well. Add dry ingredients a little at a time and mix until well blended. Divide the dough into 2-3 sections and flatten each section in waxed paper. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (can be refrigerated for several days). On a lightly floured board, roll out to desired thickness. Cut out with cookie cutters and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375º until the edges are light brown (watch carefully). Cool on racks.

Cookies can be decorated with sprinkles prior to baking or iced after baking. If icing cookies, combine ingredients and brush on with pastry brush. Paste can be purchased at crafts stores.
