Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 Cups (16oz) of cheap Hunts or Fred Meyer BBQ sauce (honey mesquite works great)
1 Cup (8oz) of Kraft French dressing - Orangish color
2 tbsp of honey (unless your using honey bbq then use 1 tbsp to start)
2 tbsp of a hot sauce - not the really hot stuff - I prefer using Franks Hot sauce
1 tsp of crushed garlic
1 medium sized lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Use about a 2 plus qt pot - Combine BBQ sauce, French dressing, honey, hot sauce, garlic, scrap about 1 tbsp of lemon zest (avoid the white peel) and the juice from one-half the lemon.
Bring the sauce to a boil stirring from time to time and then turn down to a simmer and taste to determine if more lemon or hot sauce or honey is needed. Remove from burner, cover, and let it stand and cool down for a couple of hours. re-heat amounts in the microwave when ready for use. Refrigerate left over sauce.

Personal Notes:
My dear friend Gordon Fowler from Austin,TX watched me making some BBQ chicken up in Tacoma one time. After coating the chicken with sauce and then watching it burn black while the meat inside remained uncooked, Gordon drawled, "Greeze Bernie, You damned Yankees are ruining the world for good BBQ. Ya lather it up with crap and then wonder why it doesn't cook. No respectable Texan would ever put BBQ sauce on a piece of meat when it is cooking. The sauce goes on the meat --AFTER it has been cooked!" He was right and I never used BBQ sauce again on raw meat. Travel down in Southwest and the South and you will find Gordon's rule to be true.
