1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 1/4 c. self rising flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream together shortening and sugars until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg and peanut butter.
Blend in vanilla.
Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, blend well.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Flatten with floured tines of fork.
Bake in 350 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
