Ingredients:  
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
Stir and set aside
1 Cup Brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
Combine these in mixer and then add
1 tsp baking soda mixed with 1 tsp hot water
2 tsp vanilla
Beat mixture some moree, than slowly add flour and salt into mixer with other ingredients.
Add one 12 oz pk semi sweet chocolate bits by hand
Place dough on cookie sheet by spoonful 2 inches apart bake at 375 for 10 15 min
