2 cups all purpose flour
1 cups bran
2 tbsp sugar
tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp grated orange rind
2 cups buttermilk
1 beaten egg
cup molasses
2 to 4 tbsp butter

Combine and stir well: flour, bran, sugar, salt, soda and orange rind.
Beat buttermilk, egg, molasses and butter.
Combine the dry and wet ingredients with a few swift strokes.
Bake about 25 minutes.
