1 pkg. German Chocolate Cake Mix
3/4 cup melted butter
2/3 cup (12 oz. can) evaporated milk - divided (Eagle brand is good)
1 cup chopped pecans
1 14-oz. pkg. caramels
Chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup milk and nuts. Stir by hand - do NOT over beat. Spread half of the mixture into greased, floured 9" x 13" pan. Bake 6-8 minutes.

Meanwhile, combine caramels with remaining milk in double boiler over low heat. Melt until smooth.

Remove cake from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Drizzle with melted caramel mixture. Layer remaining cake mixture. Return to oven for 15-18 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
