1 c. Powdered Sugar (sifted)
1/4 t. Salt
1/2 t. Vanilla Extract
1/2 t. Almond Extract
1/2 t. Lemon Flavoring
1/2 t. Peppermint Flavoring
1-3 drops food coloring (drop at a time, red, green)
1 T. Water (or 1 1/2 T cream)*

* if using a pastry tube, use 3/4 T water or 1 T. cream.

Directions:

In a small bowl combine sifted powdered sugar and salt. Add water and flavoring and mix until smooth and creamy. Add desired food coloring and mix well.

Take spritz cookies and dip the top into the icing. Set aside to air dry. Add sprinkles or colored sugars or candies to add to decorations.

These are a Christmas favorite cookie. I decorate them in holiday colors and use colored sugars and red hot peppermint candies. If using sugars or sprinkles, make sure the icing hasn't set yet, you may have to press down a little to get them to stick.
