2 C all-purpose flour
11/2 C sugar
1/3 C cocoa
3 1/2 t baking powder
1 t salt
1/2 C shortening
2/3 C evaporated milk
1/2 C coffee beverage
2 eggs
1 t vanilla

Cocoa Velvet Icing
1/4 C coca
1/3 C coffee beverage
1/3 C shortening
1/4 t salt
1 t vanilla
3 C powdered sugar

For Cake:
Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl. Add next three ingredients and beat 2 minutes.
Add eggs and vanilla and beat 2 minutes. Pour into two 8 inch layer pans, greased and floured on bottoms. Bake 35 minutes at 350*
For Icing:
Blend cocoa and coffee beverage in a small bowl. Add shortening, salt, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Beat at high speed until fluffy.
For the coffee beverage, I just stir some instant coffee in to the appropriate amount of water.

can of Hershey’s cocoa.
