1/2 cup of shortening
1 cup of water
1 stick of butter
4 tblsp.of powdered cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of soda
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 cup of buttermilk

3/4 stick of butter
3 tblsp. cocoa
5 tsp. milk
3 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup of walnuts, chopped

Boil the shortening, water, and butter and 4 tbsp.cocoa. Keep separate. Then beat eggs, vanilla, sugar, flour,soda buttermilk and salt. Next mix the two mixtures together. Put in Cookie Sheet Pan that has some depth to it.
You will want to do the frosting that goes with this:
Mix butter, cocoa, and milk in pan and boil.
Then add powder sugar and vanilla. Frost cooled cake and top with chopped walnuts. Bake 400 degrees - 15-20 mins.
