1 large can sliced peaches (3 cups fresh) see note
1 cup flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
To prepare the batter mix flour, baking powder together. Add sugar, milk and almond extract. Melt butter in a 6 1/2x10 1/2 baking pan or dish and pour the batter over it. Pour peaches and juice on top of batter --- DO NOT MIX. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. When crust rised to the top sprinkle with sugar and bake 10 minutes more.

If fresh peahes are used, simmer 3 cups pealed, sliced peaches with 1 cup sugar for 3-5 minutes.
