Pumpkin Cookies Recipe

1 c shortening;
1 c sugar;
1 c canned pumpkin;
1 egg;
2 c flour;
1 t soda;
1 t cinnamon;
1/2 t salt;
1 c raisins

3T butter;
4 t milk;
1/2 c brown sugar;
1 c powdered sugar;
3/4 t vanilla

Cream shortening, sugar, pumpkin and egg together. Add flour, soda, cinnamon, salt & raisins and mix thoroughly. Bake at 375 10-12 minutes. Transfer to waxed paper and cool.

Frosting: Cook butter, milk and brown sugar together until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted. Put in refrigerator until cooled, then add powdered sugar and vanilla and frost cookies. I triple this recipe because so many people want them!
