2 c sugar
1 tsp. white Karo syrup
1 c milk or half and half
2 Tbsp. butter (do not substitute)

In heavy saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring constantly until it reaches softball stage. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla and desired food coloring. Pour over 8 cups popped corn.
