Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, chopped
2 cups canned chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp chopped parsley
1 tsp dried oregano
2 bay leaves
1 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the oil in the pan over medium heat and sauté the onion until translucent. Add the garlic and cook an additional minute.

Stir in the chopped tomatoes, parsley, oregano, bay leaves, sugar and salt and pepper to taste.

Bring the sauce to a boil, then simmer, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes. If time allows, simmer longer (an hour or so) for a richer flavor. Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings. Discard bay leaves before using.

We use this sauce for homemade pizzas or any type of pastas sprinkled with your favorite cheeses. Also, we make large batches and freeze the sauce for an easy dinner when we’re too busy to make the sauce fresh.
