1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, and peanut butter. Beat. Mix in dry ingredients. Form balls and flatten slightly with a fork in a crosshatch pattern. Bake at 375º for about 12 minutes or until brown.

This is an old recipe. I've used shortening instead of lard and added an approximate time for baking.
