2 cups Buttermilk
4 tbsp Butter (melted)
2 cups Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Soda

Directions:
Directions:
Separate eggs, beat eggs whites until stiff, set aside. In a large bowl add egg yolks, buttermilk, butter, beat well. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Fold in egg whites. Abelskiver pan must be hot. In each hole add 1 tsp shortening, then add 1 tbsp batter. Cook until brown around edges, then turn half way with a nut pick, brown, turn the rest of the way. They may be rolled in powdered sugar, plain sugar, or served with honey, jelly, syrup or other topping.
