4 cups self-rising flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1 T. sugar
1/2 cup solid shortening (Crisco)
2 cups buttermilk
1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolve in 1/4 c. warm water
melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. In a large bowl, sift together the dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender. stir in the buttermilk & yeast water. Mix well and turn out onto a floured board. Knead lightly. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out & place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Let rest for 5 minutes. Brush with melted butter & bake @ 400º for 12-15 minutes.
