1 c. butter, softened
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2/3 c. sugar

4 eggs

1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour

2 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips

FROSTING:
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips, melted until smooth, cooled

Directions:

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well.

Add salt and flour and mix well. Stir in vanilla.

Stir in semisweet chocolate bits.

Bake at 350º for 20-25 minutes in 15.5 x 10.5 inch baking pan lined with wax paper. Cool completely.

When cool, invert onto lightly floured cloth. Peel off wax paper and trim cake edges. Cut cake into four sections.

Prepare frosting and spread 3 Tbsp frosting on each layer. Stack.

FROSTING: Cream butter; add sugar and beat well. Add vanilla and melted chocolate. Mix well.
