Banana Pudding Recipe

2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk

5 Tbsp. flour
dash of salt

3 egg yolks

vanilla wafers

MERINGUE:
3 egg whites
6 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:

Combine water, sugar, salt, milk and flour and cook over medium heat until thick. Add beaten egg yolks and continue to cook 3 minutes. Cool.

Layer in shallow casserole dish: pudding, wafers, and sliced bananas. Repeat layers, ending with pudding on top.

MERINGUE: Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar, vanilla and cream of tartar. Beat until fluffy.

Top pie with meringue and brown in 350º oven (watch closely).


This recipe was given to me by Mom when she stayed with us after her first stroke in 1982.
