Meatballs:
3 lb meat (ham, pork, veal or beef) ground together
2 eggs
1 c milk
1 c oatmeal
chopped green onions.

Syrup:
1 c vinegar
3/4 c water
8 t mustard;
2 c brown sugar.

Directions:
Directions:
Bring syrup ingredients to a boil in a medium saucepan. Let cool while preparing meatballs.

Mix meatball ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Form into 24 meatballs and arrange in a large glass cake pan. Pour cooled syrup over meatballs and marinate meatballs in syrup in refrigerator at least 24 hours. Bake at 325º to 350º for 1 1/2 hours or longer.

My sister Jeananne introduced us to this holiday favorite many years ago, but my family recently changed the name from "Swedish Meatballs" to the more apt "Sweetish Meatballs."
