Directions:
Slice ham, preferably with the bone in, into 1/4 inch strips or steaks. Soak in milk overnight. Put just enough ham fat into a skillet to keep the ham from sticking, have skillet hot. Slowly brown the ham evenly on both sides. When done, remove to a hot platter.
For the gravy: add 2 cups of strong black coffee to the ham drippings in the skillet and sprinkle it with a bit of black pepper and let it come to a boil. Stir well and serve piping hot. Delicious over hot biscuits or grits.

I used to eat this at my Grandmother's. That was about 45 or more years ago. I still fix this for breakfast and it taste just as good as it did way back then!
