Almond Bonbons Recipe

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 oz. almond paste
For glaze:
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
4 to 5 tsp. milk
Food coloring if desired

Mix flour, butter, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla with electric mixer. Cut almond paste into 1/2 in. slices. Then cut each slice into fourths. Roughly shape dough into 1 in. balls around each piece of almond paste and gently roll to form ball. Place about 1 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10 - 12 min. or until set and bottom is golden brown.
For glaze: Combine powdered sugar, almond extract and milk until smooth and spreadable. Tint glaze if desired. Dip tops of cookies into glaze.
