3 T butter
2 c peeled, sliced cooking apples (I like granny smith)
2/3 c sugar
1/3 c firmly packed brown sugar
3 T cornstarch
1 T apple jelly (orange marmalade is yummy too)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 c fresh cranberries
1 unbaked 9" pastry shell
1/3 c. chopped pecans

1. Preheat oven to 400 F
2. Melt butter in a large, heavy saucepan over medium heat
3. Add apple and next 5 ingredients; bring to boil, stirring constantly. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
4. Remove from heat; stir in cranberries
5. Pour mixture into pastry shell; sprinkle with pecans.
6. Bake for 20 minutes. Shield edges of pastry with aluminum foil; bake and additional 15 - 20 minutes or until set.
7. Cool on wire rack
