2 sticks butter 1/2 c. shortening 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3 c. sugar 5 large eggs 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt
Cream shortening, butter and sugar until very fluffy. Add dry ingredients alternating with milk. After completely blended, add eggs one at a time until well blended. Add flavoring. Pour into a 10 inch tube pan and bake at 300º for 1 1/2 hours.
