1/2 cup margarine, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg, separated
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
Red current jelly
Confectioners' sugar frosting

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine and sugar until fluffy. Add salt, vanilla and egg yolk and blend well. Add flour and stir until well blended. Wrap dough in waxed paper and chill well. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces and shape each on slightly floured board in 8" long rolls. Brush rolls with slightly beaten egg white, then roll in nuts. Put rolls 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. With little finger dipped in flour, make an indentation lengthwise in center of each roll. Fill with jelly. Bake in preheated oven 325º about 25 minutes. Cool and spread frosting on top of jelly. Cut each roll in 9 or 10 slightly diagonal cookies. Store airtight in cool place. Can be frozen. Makes 3 dozen.
