2 pounds beef round or chuck steak, 1 1/2 - 2 inches thick
1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup canned tomatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, salt, and pepper. Thoroughly pound flour mixture into steak. Brown meat and onion in hot oil. Add tomatoes. Cover and cook over low heat or bake in moderate oven (350º) until tender, about 1-1/2 hours.

Serve with mashed potatoes.
