1 cup butter or magarine
1 cup water
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp. salt
1 sp. baking soda

Frosting
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/8 cup milk
2 T. brown sugar
2 1/4 cups confectioner's sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

In a large saucepan, bring butter and water to boil. Remove from heat; stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, salt, and baking soda. Mix by hand until smooth. Pour into a greased 15x10-inch baking pan. Bake at 375º for 15 to 20 minutes or until cake is golden brown and tests done. Cool 20 minutes. Meanwhile, combine butter, milk, and brown sugar in saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; add confectioner's sugar and mix well ( I use my hand mixer on medium speed). Stir in nuts and frost cake.

I found this recipe in the Wichita Eagle several years ago. The frosting cover will be thin but very rich. Mike goes quail hunting with a group of guys from Wichita every December -but they won't let him come along unless he brings this cake.
