1 c. chopped onions
1 c. chopped green pepper
3/4 pound ground beef
2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
1 (12 oz) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 c. ripe olives
1 clove garlic minced
1 T. sugar
1 t. salt
1 T. chili powder
dash pepper
1 1/2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Corn meal topper
3/4 c. yellow corn meal
1/2 t. salt
2 c. cold water
1 T. butter

Cook onion and pepper in a little hot fat until tender. Add meat and brown. Add next 8 ingredients and simmer 20 to 25 minutes, until thick. Add cheese, stir till melted. Pour into a greased baking dish. (9x12x1 1/2)
Combine ingredients to make cornmeal topper. Cook and stir until thick. Spoon over meat mixture in 3 length strips.

Bake casserole in a moderate 350 oven for 40 minutes
