Pie, Della Mae's Fresh Strawberry Recipe

3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 cup water
3 tablespoons strawberry flavored gelatin
1 quart strawberries
1 prepared pie crust (9 inch), cooked
1 large tub Cool Whip

Remove the stems from the strawberries; slice them in halves.
Combine the sugar, cornstarch, water, and syrup. Bring this mixture to a slow boil; simmer & stir until the mixture becomes clear and thick.
Add the gelatin and stir until dissolved.
Cool & set aside.
Place the strawberries in the pie crust.
Pour the cooled sauce over the top.
Top the pie with the Cool Whip.
Chill three hours before serving.
