1 cup almonds
6 eggs
1/2 cup canned milk
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. grated orange rind
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
powdered sugar
unsalted butter for griddle
8 - 10 slices of bread

Directions:
Directions:
Toast almonds until fragrant (about 8-10- minutes). Chop coarsely. Set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy, then blend in the milk, sugar, orange rind, vanilla and cinnamon.
Melt a butter in a skillet. As the butter melts, dunk bread in the egg mixture (both sides) and place in the skillet. Fry each slice on both sides until golden brown.
Serve buttered, with warm maple syrup or honey. Garnish with almonds and powdered sugar.
