2-1/2 cups Sifted Swan's Cake Flour.
1-3/4 cups sugar.
1-3/4 teaspoons of soda.
1-1/3 cups of milk.
2 eggs unbeaten.
3 squares Baker's Unsweetened Chocolate, melted.
1 teaspoon salt.
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup butter

Directions:
Directions:
1. Place sifted flour in sifter, add sugar, soda and salt and sift again.
2. Stir butter in bowl to soften. Add one cup of milk and vanilla. Beat for two minutes at medium speed. Add the other ingredients and beat for one minute. Pour in two nine inch layer greased cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. 30 minute for 8 inch pans.

CREAM FILLING:
1-1/2 cups of sugar.
1 can Carnation Milk.
1 tablespoon butter.
1/2 teaspoon vanilla.

Cook sugar and milk to a soft ball, 110 degrees. Add some butter and vanilla and spread on cake.
