2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
3 tbsp. margarine or butter
2 eggs
¾ c. buttermilk or sour milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. cut in margarine until mixture resembles course crumbs. Combine one egg and milk; add to flour mixture. Stir till just moistened. On a lightly floured surface, knead gently 12 strokes. On a greased baking sheet, shape dough into 6 inch round loaf. Cut a cross ¼ in. deep on top. Brush with one beaten egg. Bake at 375º about 35 minutes.
