1/2 cup butter
1 yellow or white cake mix
2 1#4-oz. cans cherry pie filling
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Whipped cream (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut butter into the dry cake mix.
Reserve 1 cup of mixture.
Pat remaining mixture lightly into oblong pan, 13x9x2", building up 1/2" edge.
Spread 2 cans cherry pie filling over cake mixture to within 1/2" of pan edge.
Blend chopped nuts with reserved cake mixture & sprinkle over pie filling.
Bake 45 minutes.
Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream, or plain.
