1 Cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
1 cup boiling water
2 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, molasses and boiling water. Mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix. Add raisins. Bake in jelly roll pan 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
Frost with powdered sugar icing or boiled white frosting.
