2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 to 2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oleo
1/4 c. instant potato flakes
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
2 beaten eggs
6 to 7 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
poppy or sesame seeds (optional)

Directions:
Scald the milk, turn off heat and add sugar, salt, oleo and potato flakes. Stir until melted and cooled. Meanwhile, dissolve dry yeast in 2/3 c. warm water and tsp. of sugar. Add this to cooled milk. Add beaten eggs. Mix flour with baking powder and baking soda. Gradually mix all together until it makes a stiff dough. Let rise for 1 hour. At this point you may punch down the dough, cover tightly and refrigerate up to 3 days or...to form rolls: make into small balls. Put on floured cloth cover to raise a little. Starting with the first balls formed and flatten with rolling pin, making a triangle and holding 1 triangle point down with heavy glass. Then roll into crescent shape. Place on greased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Cover and let rise. Brush with beaten egg, then sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds if desired. Bake at 375 on middle oven rack 12 to 15 min. or until brown.
