1 1/2 cup Crisco
2 cups butter
3/4 tsp salt
2 2/3 cup sugar
8 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream Crisco,butter and salt. Add sugar, then flour a little at a time. Dough will be stiff and will have to be worked with hands. When you think enough flour is in, pinch a little piece to see if it will stand up, or try a test cake in the oven. Mold into flat balls and press down with a rolling pin into flat cakes about 3/4 inch thick. Mold thumb print around edges and then prick all over with a fork.Cut into wedges like a pie, into four or five triangles. Carefully slide into pans lined with heavey brown paper. Don't grease pans Bake at 300 degrees very very slowly until just very lightly browned. Put under broiler for one or two minutes to brown more. Cool on racks
