Spice Potato Cookies (Soft) Recipe

2/3 c soft butter
1 3/4 c sugar
4 eggs
1 c freshly mashed potatoes
2 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cloves
1 c chopped walnuts

Cream together butter and sugar. Mix until mixture is as smooth as possible. Beat in eggs thoroughly and add mashed potatoes. Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, salt and cloves. Stir the spiced flour gradually into the potato mixture and add walnuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly oiled cookie sheet placing about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 for about 12 minutes.
