1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
18 marshmallows (large) cut in half
1/4 c.pecan halves

Cocoa Frosting:
2 c. sifted powdered sugar
5 Tbsp.cocoa
1/8 tsp.salt
3 Tbsp. soft butter
4 or 5 Tbsp. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Sift together flour, salt, soda, and cocoa.
Cream shortening, and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, and milk, Beat well.
Add dry ingredients and mix.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 minutes. (don't overbake)

Remove from oven, press 1/2 marshmallow cut side down on top or cookies.
Bake 2 minutes longer. Cool.
Top with cocoa frosting then with pecan halves.

Cocoa Frosting:
Blend 2 cups powdered sugar, cocoa, salt, soft butter, and milk. Mix well.
Frost onto cooled cookie and top each cookie with pecan half.
