1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine
1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. uncooked quick-cooking rolled oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. raisins
1/4 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.

In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar with a electric mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla, flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in the oats, nuts, raisins, and coconut until well mixed. The mixture will be very stiff. Put mixture into a greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan and spread evenly. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes. Cool in pan, cut into 24 squares.

* Can also be dropped into cookies. Bake for 12-13 minutes.
