3 C catsup
1/2 C firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 C molasses
1/4 C prepared mustard
2 T vinegar
2 T liquid smoke
2 T Worcestershire sauce
red pepper to taste
6 lbs. country style pork ribs
1/2 t garlic salt
1/4 t pepper

Combine first 8 ingredients; set aside.

Cut ribs into serving size pieces; place in large Dutch oven. Cover ribs with water; add garlic salt and pepper. Bring water to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 min. Drain well.

Grill ribs, 5" from heat, over slow coals 45 min. or to desired degree of doneness, turning frequently. Brush ribs with sauce during last 15 min. Heat remaining sauce and serve with ribs.
