Directions:Mix-master makes this recipe easier for beating the egg whites. Use the small bowl. Set on the highest setting and beat whites until real stiff. In large bowl beat yolks with hand held mixer. Add beaten whites to beaten yolks a little at a time mixing with hand mixer. Add powdered sugar a little at a time while mixing. Beat a little longer until well mixed and batter is uniform. Heat water on stove in tea pot or sauce pan. In small mugs pour 1/2 to 3/4 shot rum and 1/2 to 3/4 shot brandy (or whiskey). Then fill mug 3/4 full with batter. Fill remainder of mug with hot water from stove. The drink should have a good head on it like a good tap beer. Sprinkle nutmeg on top. Serve with a teaspoon or a slapstick stirrer. P.S. If batter is running low and the party is still hoppin, use less batter and more hot water!! |

Notes: This recipe was used for decades at the former Pleshek's Pavillion, a four generation bar and dance hall near Shawano, WI. The drink was never sold, instead it was free on a couple of Saturday nights during the holiday season for appreciation to the loyal customers. A fond holiday memory especially watching some people get off their barstool after 5 or 6 of these freebies!!
